Tower o Books

This 25m high structure is made from (scafolding) but also 30,000 books in various languages. Its by Argentine artist Marta Minujin and called theTower of Babel of books. Its in celebration of Buenos Aires being world book capital 2011. If nothing else has confirmed that i picked the right city to come to, this has!
The idea is all the books are donated to the structure, as you see it, then you book an apointment to come climb the tower, have a look round- then take a book away with you. Nice -eh?

Have you donated your copies of 'The Storyteller' and 'The Mandarins' yet? The LBC can live on in the minds of the Porteños...
