Pimp my Bus

The Buses in Buenos Aires are fantastic. They all have different colour schemes, and some even have neon lights around the wheels. Finding out what goes where is another matter. At first it seems an impenetrable mess... but then there is this handy book, with all 749 routes explained, ish.

Canadian Cyclists

I met these guys in the hostel this morning. Caleb and Glenis are from Canada. The've been cycling up from Patagonia. I was talking to them and as a long shot asked - "oh you haven't seen Tom have you?" (a friend of mine from school who has been cylcling accross South america since February) and Caleb says -" oh there was those two english guys outside Coyhaique .". --i show them a picture of Tom on facebook and it was him after all. See south America is a small pokey little place really.

This is a bad photo of a great view. Flying in to Buenos aires, the plane comes in over the water like the opening of a film and you can see the amzing grid from up high. And Its massive, it goes on and on and sprawls until suddenly it breaks off into countryside, and only then the plane lands, way away from the city.

Nach Sudamerika!

I found these postcards in the gift shop of the old port buildings in Hamburg a few months ago. The romantic notion of travel to exotic foreign lands is almost as exciting as going there on a luxury liner it seems, the ships are pictured in postcards like this way more often than any exotic location was. Its all about the wonder of the massive floating hotel. Graphically there’re great too. I always loved toucans as a kid.
